Aims: To study the pattern unilateral relationship with contralateral mastoid, diseased side membrane ossicular status.
Methods: Forty patients 10-65 year age diagnosed as squamous type were selected. They otoscopically evaluated for retraction perforation subjected high-resolution computed tomography bone. High resolution tomographies analyzed status bilateral involvement. During mastoidectomy was noted correlated high tomography.
Results: cases enrolled study. Age ranged from10-65 years. On radiological analysis bones, 21(52.5%) mastoids sclerotic, 15(37.5 %) diploic 4(10%) pneumatized sides. Contralateral showed 23(57.5%), 11(27.5%) sclerotic 6(15%) Amongst 21 11(52.3%) patient had pars tensa 9(42.8 flaccida. In total 15 8(53.3%) flaccid All three ossicles involved 8(38%), Malleus incus eroded 3(14%), 7(33.3%), malleus 3(14%) intact 3(14%)of sclerosed on tomography. remaining 19 non all 3 4 (21%), plus 8 (16%), 5(26.3%) andossicular chain 2(10%).
Conclusion: Mastoid not only effect pressure leading but also alter outcome chronicotitismedia. altered media.
